Pleasantview: Round 1 - Lothario
Warning: contains Don Lothario
I just have to say that Don Lothario is not my favorite, and that I really don't approve of his lifestyle choices. Nevertheless, he is Don Lothario, and I should probably let him be himself instead of shoving his head into a ReNuYuSenso Orb and making him into a Grilled Cheese Sim - as much as I may want to.
From the start, Don has a want to talk to Mortimer Goth, father of his fiancee Cassandra, and then wants to become his friend. They don't have a lot in common, so the conversations to get to know Mortimer take awhile, with Don making this face a lot.
I'm sure it goes without saying that Don Lothario is a Romance Sim, but I'm saying it anyway. This is Don's LTW. He is engaged to a rich woman and wants to become friends with her father. I'm going to read into this and assume that besides being a womanizer, Don is also a gold digger. So, I'm setting Don's secondary aspiration to fortune.
Don thinks he's all that.
The garden club lady was okay with a wolf whistle earlier, but she's not going to dance with Don. They have negative chemistry, but it didn't stop Don from wanting to dance with her. She is a woman, after all.
Then he wanted a party. The garden club lady just happened to still be there, and the other guests are the ones he had the highest relationship with. Knowing what I know about Don and his exploits, I expect it may not go well for him. He wants to woohoo with both Nina and Dina Caliente at the party. I probably should have let him have his want, as that would have caused all kinds of drama.
Yes, Nina is there too, enjoying an instant meal in the other room.
Soon, everyone wanted to be in the one bathroom, where Don and Nina had decided to fool around. Of course they would pick the smallest room in the house to make the picture-taking more difficult for me.
Kaylynn gives Don quite an angry look.
And then she gave him a well-deserved slapping.
Then Cassandra came in, completely oblivious to any problems. I personally would be a bit suspicious if my fiance were in a bathroom with other women.
Don is really mad at Kaylynn for slapping him. I suspect Don is one of those people who blame all their problems on other people, and never take any personal responsibility.
He soon consoled himself by going outside to jump in puddles. He wasn't one for introspection or worry. Kaylynn is watching him out the window. Even though she's really angry, she stays at the party.
Double swooning.
I thought Dina was going to get mad, but I guess if anyone understands the desire to get rich by marrying into the Goth family, it's Dina.
There was no more drama, and really nothing else interesting happened - just some bad dancing out on the balcony...
And Don had himself a roof raiser party without any effort. Not that he really cared if his guests had fun.
The evening was still young, so he wanted to go somewhere to hustle pool. This place in Bluewater Village had a pool table.
Don looks quite confident that he'll win.
And he did. He won $25 from this guy.
When he returned home, Kaylynn was kicking over his trash can.
Yes, you've been so wronged, Kaylynn. Well, we all know about you and Daniel Pleasant, and he's married.
I wondered why Don wouldn't pick up the trash until I took a closer look.
Since Don has so many relationships, I decided his dates would be determined randomly from all the women he's attracted to and has a high enough relationship with. So he went on a date with Nina. He told her that even though he's marrying Cassandra, he only has eyes for her.
Don gave Nina a toast, flashing his engagement ring from Cassandra. I guess the toast was to Cassandra's bank account.
That's when a waitress dropped food on him. It may have been karma. Anyway, I was surprised to see that there's actually a bad memory from having a food tray dropped on you.
Here I'm sure Don's complaining about salad being thrown on him. He didn't even order salad.
And, this is when Melissa Fancey first began stalking Don. He is truly irresistible.
Oh Nina, really?
Oh, okay. Don actually wanted some pictures of Nina. I'm not sure where he'll hang those once he's married to Cassandra. Melissa Fancy is still stalking Don. I know she just can't wait for her opportunity to hop in the photo booth with him. Unfortunately (or possibly fortunately) she's just not on Don's radar yet.
Well, now she probably is. Nina is temporarily distracted by someone's lame dancing.
And so is Bella. This is the first Bella sighting in the Uberhood. I guess if she was last seen scaling the balcony of Don's house, she's somehow made her way back.
Don works out any last knots in Nina's spine. Melissa continues to make her feelings obvious.
Don finally got Nina in the photobooth for more than photos. Lazlo is so pumped with enthusiasm over Don's photo booth conquest, that he punches an old man in the throat.
Nina looks instantly regretful about the public woohoo, but it's just because she doesn't want a beating. Maybe she's averting her eyes in hopes the Mrs. Crumplebottom doesn't target her next. I would say poor Don, but well...
If anyone deserves a beating, it's probably Don. Someone needs to protect the decency of the community, and Mrs. Crumplebottom is committed to the job.
Don gets a side order of lecture with his purse pummeling. Lazlo looks away in embarrassment for Don.
Nina is annoyed that Lazlo did nothing to save Don - even though she was also too scared to intervene herself. She points out a mustard stain on his shirt.
Or something like that. Don thinks it's funny. He knows why he's in love with Nina. She's got spunk. She's his favorite girl. It's too bad she isn't rich.
But it's at about this point that Don begins to waver on his engagement to Cassandra. He goes against his womanizing nature with the want to get married to Nina. I wasn't sure what to do about it since it would require breaking his engagement with Cassandra, but I locked it in for him for the time being.
Meanwhile back at Don's house, Kaylynn has not forgiven Don yet. But she will eventually, and I have little doubt that in Round 2 she will be added to his list of 20 simultaneous lovers.
Don decided to go to a club. I don't remember where this one is - probably downtown. I notice that Daniel Pleasant has the same idea. They're there to pick up chicks.
It was so funny that Jessica Peterson from Belladonna Cove was the only woman that showed up, and Don has negative chemistry with her. The place was just full of men, much to the disappointment of both Don and Daniel.
But no worries, Don never has trouble meeting women. When he returned home, Marisa Bendett walked by and she was totally charmed by him.
And of course, he had to use his favorite smooth talk skills. I don't know where he finds all these roses.
Don's next randomly determined date was with Cassandra. Being an intern at the hospital is hard work, and that's why he hasn't been spending much time with Cassandra. Or at least that looks like the excuse he's giving her. His hours really aren't that bad compared to what I'm sure they would be IRL.
That's alright, he's Don Lothario. He knows he can help Cassandra forget her annoyance with him.
But he soon lost interest in Cassandra and had a want to be friends with Timothy Riley. He called him during his date with Cassandra was there and just ignored her for a long time.
His fear panel is now shows a fear of marrying Cassandra.
After fooling around in his truck and fulfilling a few more of Don's wants before the date ended, they said goodbye. Cassandra is apparently way more invested in the relationship than Don.
Another roll of the die brought Dina over for a date. Don gave her the advice to wear a different shade of lipstick, as her face looks a little washed-out in the shade she's wearing.
If she was offended, it was soon forgotten, as he smooth-talked her.
I guess Dina is really not concerned that her sister is also in love with Don, or that he's engaged.
They also spent some time out in Don's truck.
When Don's computer broke, I decided to let him fix it. He wasn't that interested in skilling for a promotion, so I figured he could learn some mechanical skills. Or maybe he needed some shock therapy - one or the other. It didn't go too well for him, but he lived to flirt and cheat another day.
At the end of this round, Don has met Jan Tellerman and is getting to know her a little better, for reasons I'm sure we can guess.
Even though I was done playing Don's house, I couldn't bear to leave things as they were. I decided to bring both Cassandra and Nina over to see what would happen. The next house I will play is Cassandra's where she's sure to want to marry him. I was hoping Don would decide something, and he accepted an autonomous flirt from Cassandra in front of Nina. So it seems that given a choice, Don chose Cassandra. Also, Don's fear of marrying Cassandra is gone. I guess that as much as he finds Nina to be his soulmate, he still prefers Cassandra's money. I was glad to have the issue settled. Even though she knew Don was engaged to Cassandra, Nina is still mad. I suppose she was hoping he would back out of the engagement. But, I'm sure Don will be able to smooth talk his way back into Nina's good graces soon enough.
Before leaving, his house got a bit of a makeover. I'm sticking Don's truck and his computer in his inventory, as it looks like he'll be moving. So, the makeover was a bit pointless, but eventually someone else may live there.
